Xodo

Crystal Mt Xodó is our 6 year old purebred Friesian stallion.

Owned and bred by Abrelino and Sandy Nogueira of Crystal Mt Friesian Horses.

Xodó is pronounced (Shod-ó), and is Portuguese for “precious”.

Crystal Mt Xodó has been competing very successfully this season at Novice level with regular wins and placing’s at championship shows, and scores of 70%+; including Reserve Champion (level 2) at the Waitemata Dressage Championship 2012.

At the recent Australian and New Zealand Friesian horse Society A.G.M, Xodo received the Friesian Dressage Stallion 2012 High Points award, and received a Roll of Merit to acknowledge his outstanding achievements in Dressage for 2012.

Crystal Mt Xodó made his HOY debut this season, with excellent results –

4th Musical Freestyle (level 2) Horse of the Year 2013

5th Dressage (Level 2) Horse of the Year 2013.

The same month Xodo went on to perform his ridden IBOP Test for the Dutch Judges at the Bi- annual  Australian and New Zealand Friesian horse Society Keuring which was held here at Cambridge Lodge in March.

The IBOP Test was performed by more than 30 Friesian horses throughout Australia and New Zealand during the 2013 Keuring, and Xodó’s IBOP score was the highest overall for Australasian Keuring at 78.5%!

This is an outstanding performance for a young stallion; who was only 5 and a half years old at the time.

Crystal Mt Xodó has been producing fabulous foals to a variety of different mares, including Purebred Friesians, Thoroughbreds, Warm Bloods and Appaloosa.

The Frappaloosa is a very popular Sporthorse cross in the U.S.A, and yes, it looks just like a Friesian, but has appaloosa spots!!

When crossed with other breeds most of Xodó ’s foals have been Jet Black.

All Xodó’s progeny to date have his fabulous conformation, correct, smooth ,elastic paces, lovely heads and extremely trainable temperament.

Crystal Mt Cruzeiro Xodo's First foal who is a Friesian Sporthorse (out of a thoroughbred mare).

And is already progressing well under saddle, Cruzie first displayed a keen desire to jump at the age of 3 mths; when he succesfully  jumped out of the broodmare paddock over a full height gate!

Needless to say, Carolina, Sandy’s daughter is looking forward to seeing how he goes as a show jumper when he comes of age.

The service fee for Crystal Mt Xodo for the 2013/14 season will again be $1,200 with a L.F.G

This includes $250 booking fee, and first collecton.
